Evaluations

Speech Evaluation

An evaluation of a student's speech and language skills that determines eligibility for speech therapy services in Texas schools.

What's included

  • Speech and language instruments matched to age and referral question
  • Language sampling and observation
  • Parent and teacher input
  • A written report tied to Texas eligibility criteria
  • Results review with your team

Who delivers it

A licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP). Bilingual evaluations are conducted by SLPs licensed to evaluate in Spanish.

Where

  • On your campus
  • By secure video

Questions districts ask

English or Spanish?
Both. When a student's home language is Spanish, the evaluation is conducted by a bilingual SLP, because difference versus disorder cannot be answered through an interpreter.
Can this be part of a full FIE?
Yes. A speech evaluation can stand alone or fold into a broader FIE; we coordinate so nothing is tested twice.
Can it be done by teletherapy?
Yes, by secure video with a campus facilitator in the room, or on campus in person. You choose.
How soon do we get the report?
The report date is committed when the evaluation is scheduled, inside your compliance window.
What happens after eligibility?
If the student qualifies, weekly speech therapy can begin under the same roof, at the published session rate, with the documentation connected end to end.
